What the headlines say
Government scrapping jury trials in major justice shakeup
What actually changed
The change applies only to certain either-way offences (cases that can be tried in either magistrates' court or Crown Court). Serious offences that must go to Crown Court still get jury trials. Family court has never had jury trials and is unaffected.
